Abstract

“Everyone bullies, and everyone gets bullied.” Bullying is becoming such a common issue nowadays that people do not take this problem as seriously as they once did. This transformation of people’s attitude is due to many reasons, including the ubiquity of bullying education in schools, and the birth of cyberbullying which makes bullying more subjective and harder to define. To best deal with the modern form of bullying and its offenders, we are entering a new period of time where the focus must be more on the healing process for the victims of bullying.

About me

I am Silvia Zhang, an international student from Shanghai, China attending American high school in Northern Virginia. I observed that bullying happens badly in American high schools and I personally had a friend who suffered from painful bad effects bullying had left on her; thus, I decided to do studies on bullying for my senior thesis. I felt lucky to have this opportunity to learn about this subject.
